
Musical Director Theodore K. Schlosberg, Ed.D., Founder and Executive Director of the New Jersey Workshop for the Performing Arts (NJWA).
A professional French hornist and proficient in band and orchestral instruments Dr. Schlosberg has become skilled in playing the Alphorn. In 1997, Ricola USA sponsored Dr. Schlosberg at the Alphorn Academy of Switzerland in Montreux where he performed and studied with the renowned Alphornist, Joseph Molnar. In 2002, the swiss mission to the United States, sponsored the 'Global Launch of the International Year of the Mountains, 2002', and requested his performance at the UN for the opening of the conference. Dr. Ted Schlosberg and Dr. Martina Struck performed on Alphorn and Buechel at the United Nations in New York when Switzerland joined the UN in 2002. In March 2003, he represented Ricola USA at the Swiss Peaks festival in New York. Within the past two years he founded, directed and performed with the New Jersey Workshop for the Arts Alphorn Ensemble. He conducts workshops for pre-school through senior citizens in the Alphorn and various instruments of Switzerland, i.e. the Alphorn, a 14' circular Alphorn (see picture below), Buechel, Treichels & Glocken Bells and Swiss hand bells. he demonstrates all band orchestral instruments in workshops throughout New Jersey, USA.
