President Martina Struck, Ph.D. has been classically trained in violin, plays jazz trumpet, Alphorn and Buchel, and has founded the group Alphorn Phenomenon to experiment on Alphorn and Buechel in a contemporary setting. She is Swiss, holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, and is employed by a pharmaceutical company in New Jersey, USA. Dr. Ted Schlosberg and Dr. Martina Struck performed on Alphorn and Buechel at the United Nations in New York when Switzerland joined the UN in 2002.
